EU Approves Reduction Of Biofuels In New Mandate

In a 50 to 2 vote, European Union lawmakers approved a reduction of the on-road biofuels component of the EU renewable fuels mandate from 10% to 6% by 2020.
A goal of 5% from renewables by 2015, including 4% from biofuels, was also agreed on. Other energy sources added to the on-road fuel mix include hydrogen and electricity.
