EU Renewable Fuels Agency Reports on RTFO
08.11.08
The European Renewable Fuels Agency (RFA) published its first monthly report on biofuels under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) which showed that less than one-fifth of the biofuel used on UK roads meets government standards intended to safeguard human rights and guarantee carbon savings.
Biofuels accounted for 2.14% of UK road fuel against the 2.5% target for the year. The market has been dominated by imports, with American soy being reported as the top feedstock used for biodiesel at 22%.
