Energy Tax Package Stalled In US Senate

The US Senate failed for the third time today to gain a cloture vote to allow energy tax extender legislation to be brought before Senate for consideration, OPIS reports.
The motion failed by a 51-43 vote, with 60 votes needed to gain cloture. Among its provisions, the energy tax extender package included the $1.00 per gallon biodiesel tax credit set to expire at the end of 2008.
