Mississippi River Traffic Returning to Normal
07.29.08
Following the collision between a fuel oil barge and a tanker carrying biodiesel and styrene in which more than 400,000 gallons of oil spilled, almost 100 miles of the Mississippi River were closed to shipping.
The tanker, bound for Rotterdam, was slightly damaged, but none of its contents leaked. As of Monday traffic is slowing returning to normal.
