Report Projects Rapid Rise In Biofuel Production
05.29.08
Global production of biofuels is forecast to rise rapidly in the next decade, pushed by high government blending targets, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the UN food agency and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development said in a report published on Thursday.
The report projected that global ethanol production will reach 33 billion gallons in 2017, twice the quantity produced in 2007, and that biodiesel production was set to grow faster than ethanol.
