US Firms To Invest $55 Million In Philippine Biofuels

The US Department of Agriculture has signed two agreements with American firms worth a combined $55 million to help develop the ethanol and biodiesel industries in the Philippines. The investments will come from FE Clean Energy and Global Renewable Energy Network (GREEN) Inc.
One of the agreements is a $30-million expansion of the FE Clean Energy/Bronzeoak Clean Energy sugarcane ethanol plant in San Carlos, Negros Occidental from 14 million gallons per years to 19 million gallons. Details on the second investment are not yet available.
