Fuel Prices Cause Unrest In Mozambique

Recent events in Mozambique characterized by some international news outlets as a "food riot" was a series of fuel protests that occurred when local drivers called on the government to increase fares by 15% after a 30% increase in the cost of petroleum diesel.

Roadblocks of burning tires and dumpsters appeared at bus depots, and men armed with rocks and clubs threatened local drivers.
