Tyson & Conoco Begin Renewable Diesel Production

Tyson Foods and ConocoPhillips’ joint venture to produce renewable diesel from beef fat is underway.

Conoco’s Borger, TX plant started processing tallow from Tyson's Amarillo, TX plant on December 18, 2007 making ultra-low sulfur, renewable diesel.

A ConocoPhillips spokesman said production would ramp up over a five year period at a cost of $100 million to reach a capacity of 175 million gallons per year.
