Columbia To Invest $342 Million in Biofuel Plants

The Colombian government says it will invest $342 million in three new biofuel plants developed jointly by Colombia, the US government's USAID, and the International Organization for Migration.

Colombia's goal is to have 20 operational biofuel plants within 10 years. The country has a tax incentive program and other regulations that requires 5% use of biofuels that is set to increase to 10% by 2010, and 20% by 2012.
