Bionor Looks To Jatropha in the Philippines

Global feedstock firm Bionor Transformacion S.A. is planning to invest $200 million in the Philippines to develop 100,000 hectares of land into jatropha plantations. The jatropha will be used as feedstock for biofuel facilities in the country.

Bionor currently operates two biodiesel plants in Spain and Italy with a combined output of 125,000 mt. The company says it is constructing an additional five plants in Spain and Brazil, which will add 900,000 mt of capacity in 2008.
