Spanish Biodiesel Market Being Controled By Imports

07.17.09

The Spanish biodiesel market is being controled by imports from Argentina, Malaysia, Italy, and the Netherlands, leaving local market share at around 10% with only three biodiesel plants producing regularly.

BP, Repsol, and CEPSA are relying mainly on direct imports from Argentina and Malaysia, while local producers are unable to be competitive in the market with locally sourced material sold at the same price as the Rotterdam market, according to market reports.
